Support » Plugin: YITH WooCommerce Wishlist » Wouldn’t work out of the box and no directions at all.

  • I spent an entire day today trying to make this plugin and the TI Woocommerce Wishlist plugin working. I had bugs to work out with both of them to get them fully functional with both of my sites but this one fell short in many ways. The setup is confusing and lacking. They don’t offer much of any guidance built-in. There is not even any shortcodes displayed within the setup for inserting wishlist buttons. The documentation for the plugin is rather hidden on the Yith site and even that doesn’t explain the settings of this plugin that well at all. Overall I felt like Yith left it up to the user to sort of traverse this without them. In the end, I figured that out but the wishlist itself would not update no matter what I tried. I entered the shortcode on the wishlist page as directed, I linked that page in the settings, I exempted the page from Supercahcer and Cloudflare; still, no luck at all. I eventually gave up in frustration.

    Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with our plugin and documentation.
We try our best to offer our users an easy-to-use and intuitive solution and to make it work with as little effort as possible.

For this reason, we automatically create the wishlist page upon installation and populate it with the correct shortcode.
For the same reason, we automatically print Add to Wishlist buttons on product pages, as soon as the plugin is activated.
Also, for the same reason, we try to give you all the tools and instructions to make the plugin work even when the cache is enabled on your server.

I’m sorry to hear that our best efforts, in your case, didn’t turn into a good user experience.
I’d like to point out, though, that the support forum for the plugin here on is a great resource, and we’d have surely been glad to help you configure the plugin if you’d opened a support request.

We take feedbacks that come from our community very seriously, and for this reason, we will forward your message to the team that manages plugin’s documentation, to be sure to review and correct any possible lack in the information we provide to our customers.
Please, feel free to give specific suggestions, if you feel like we should add something specific in order to make the user experience easier.

Finally, I’m glad to know that you find a valid alternative for your site; anyway, if you could give us and our plugin another chance, and open a support request for the problems that you encountered during configuration, I’m sure that we’d be able to make you happy to use YITH WooCommerce Wishlist.
We have over 700k happy users, and I feel like our plugin has the potential to improve your customer experience and increase your conversions

@natip100 If you want to leave a review then do so. But keep it about that plugin and do not use the review to make recommendations for something else. That’s trolling and not appropriate. I have removed that part from your review.

Keep the reviews about your experience when you tried the plugin and please leave it at that.
