• We currently run a site in Joomla 4yacht.com/yachts-for-sale and want to add a WP module for the blog. Do you think it would be beneficial to add the WP module or continue to use the Joomla blog function?

    Thoughts?

  • You’re really asking in a place that’s very much skewed towards WordPress, so you’re always going to get a “Yes, WordPress is better” response.

    It depends…
No, if you want your blog integrated with joomla users, components / modules and plugins already installed. Maybe a joomla menu.

Yes, if you want something totally new and separated from your joomla. Maybe a pre-fix domain blog.yourdomain.com

The site is already done in Joomla, however there is a module available that allows me to add a WP blog as opposed to running the Joomla blog.

It will be a private blog, but I was wondering if you had found the WP blog to be better and fast.

Oh, the list looks like it didn’t work above. http://www.4yacht.com/yachts-for-sale

The blog page is on the menu at the top

I think both blogs are equally good. Maybe wordpress wins because of easiness (no doubt, tweaked to blog by nature).

Speed will depend on more then just the blog. Template or theme and all the other stuff that gets loaded into the blog (components, modules, plugins and plugin, widgets, shortcodes).

I think it’s harder to manage, learning curve of using 2 cms and that you can’t use or incorporate (components, modules, plugins – plugins, widgets, shortcodes) from one to another. Also like I said 2 user databases, sure you can sync the databases, but that’s just more stuff being added, lower speeds, more problems.
