• WordPress is getting worse by every update. The block-consept is a disaster, but I have learned to live with it. The few updates after 5.0 were OK, but then 5.5 comes along and we have several adjustments that is hard to understand.

    1. Removing the URL on the top of the title and moving this to permalink-option. This makes it less easy to check the URL of the post.

    2. Now I have three options for previewing a post. This takes serveral clicks.

Sofar I have only found two, but what is common is that both news makes editing less easy. They make working with post in Gutenberg less fluent.

I found the third UI-fault in WordPress 5.5.

    3. The frame around an active block has been removed. If I want to remove a block I have no idea which block will be removed because no block is being marked as active. Only the blinking cursor shows which one.

Conclusion: WordPress 5.5 is less userfriendly

You won’t get any sympathy here.
I hate bloat. And yes i also feel wp gets larger and larger on every update. Not necessarily better.

My main concern is they never scale back. It should be kept simple and clean.
Instead they are building a jenga.

A part of the problem is not so much bloating but they are removing functions that make WordPress userfriendly. That is a mistery to me.

This list goes on. I discover new faults in WordPress 5.5.

    4. If I copy HTML-block from an old post and paste it to a new post the HTML-code is pasted as a paragraph-block and not as HTML-block. This was not a problem before.

Why are you making WordPress less userfriendly?

I just experienced yet another flaw in WordPress 5.5

    5. The active block locked itself on one place in a post in such a way that I could not edit any other block in the post. No matter how I clicked on any other block in the post, the active block would not change. I saw also a horisontal line to indicate the area of active block. The only way to change the active block was to save my work, leave the post, and go back in the post again. Then the situation was normal again.
