• When one attempts to generate the Site key and Secret key, the link just returns an error.

    “The 502. That’s an error.
The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request.
Please try again in 30 seconds. That’s all we know.”

At least the captcha I was using (really simple captcha) stopped some spam. This program does nothing – except display its shortcode on the contact form!

Site Key and Secret Key are generated manually on google site.
Not something related with this plugin code.
If you received an error there, try again, probably temporary issue with google site.

    Thank you.

Thank you for your response. I have just tried it again, several more times, in fact. The link you give in your program needed to get the key is:
    https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin/create

    It still returns:-
    “502. That’s an error.
The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request.
Please try again in 30 seconds. That’s all we know.”

The thing is, you provide the link that is essential for making your program work. The link doesn’t work, so your program doesn’t work. Perhaps you should try your link yourself and try to get it sorted out, rather than taking this “nothing to do with me” approach?

In any event, I’m sorry but there are lots of other extensions out there and I really cannot afford to waste any more time on this.

    Good luck with it anyway.

You are right, link no longer works, google changed it.
Use this link instead: https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin or use other extension. Thank you for your help

Thank you. But like I said, my time is limited.

FWIW, I went back to “Really Simple Captcha”, activated Akismet and added its form shortcodes to my “Contact Form 7” forms. This seems to have fixed our spam issue nicely – and it only took a few minutes to implement.

However, out of curiosity, I will try your program again on another site if/when spam becomes an issue there.
