Worpress WAMP server IP changed | WordPress.org

Recently I changed my ISP from comcast to verizon, causing my IP address to change. I have been hosting a few sites on my machine but can no longer access them. I did everything the documentation said to do when changing the wordpress URL, but it still does not work. My Joomla and phpBB sites still work fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @redhottaco ,

That’s strange. It should work if Jhoomla and other sites work. What’s the error you get or what do you see on screen? What URL are you entering?

May I know what documentation have you followed?

I ask these questions so that it gives a better understanding of your local setup and helps in better diagnosing the problem.

The URL in the address bar changes and redirects back to the old URL (IP address) and gives the error “This site can not be reached”

The documentation I used is on this page:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

I did it after the domain changed, as at that point the site would not load.

Have you tried manually setting up the homepage URL in wp-config as mentioned on page:

https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Edit_wp-config.php
