I really needed a solution to quickly delete duplicate posts on a blog aggregator I am building.
In order to be safe I migrated my live db to a local install of WordPress, installed the plugin and ran it. Since my primary concern is over post doubles, I set the plugin to target duplicate posts and send them to the trash.
I did the first run on a local environment, mainly because the heavy lifting involved in finding and deleting all the posts could have put some real strain on my shared hosting server.
The plugin found over 300 duplicate listings on my site, which is pushing 7,000 posts.
Awesome! I permanently deleted those suckers.
When the heavy lifting of the first job was done, I went ahead and installed this on my live site and tested it by creating a couple of duplicate posts by hand.
I ran the plugin again, and sure enough one of the two twin posts I had just created landed in the trash.
I am going to be incorporating this into a regular routine to clean up dupes on my site.
