Works great for new post email alerts

I use it to send email alerts when new posts in a certain category are published. it works great.

The only problem I’m having is the large list is slowing our server down when it sends.

Regarding the large lists issue, could you let us know the following details so that we can better under the issue?

– Are you using a shared hosting server or a dedicated mail server?
– How many subscribers do you have in each list and overall in all lists?
– How often do you send emails?
– Could you share us a screenshot of Email Sending settings (available under Email Subscribers > Settings > Email Sending)

Thanks for the reply.

– We are on a VPS. No dedicated email server.
– We have 1 list with 650 subscribers.
– Emails are sent 5-10 times a month.

Since changing the maximum number of emails sent per hour our site isn’t getting slowed down.

Hello,

VPS is the best option and you shouldn’t be having issues with 650 subscribers. You can increase the limit to much higher (maximum number of emails sent per hour) as you use VPS.

Could you speak to the webhost and see what is going on? Also, please consider changing the mailer to SMTP (under Email Subscribers > Settings > Email Sending) for better deliverability.
