• This plugin abuses the admin notification feature so much it is really aggravating. Every single time you login to WP dashboard this plugin has a new notification. If you click the hide button it takes you to the plugin admin page.

We are doing continuous development, and keeping the plugin to latest WordPress update, also whatever new things implemented by Twitter. Its a growing. Most of the people appreciate that we are always working. If you dont want any certain update, you dont need to update, read the change log, it states the update being introduce on a certain version. And we have given the option for user to hide the notice, if you hide once, it wont show you until you upgrade. Not sure what you are suggesting. We should stop updating? Or when we update we should do silently?

Chiming in here: While it is allowed to use the notification area in the admin area, doing so is why I abandoned using this plugin. The notification was just too much for me.

The Twitter Cards Meta plugin is well written and works. But seeing that notification was such a turn off for me. I thought about keeping the plugin and the notification or just use something else. I chose something else. 😉

Everytime I login to wp-admin, your plugin is displaying a notification bar across the admin area.

Here is what it’s saying today

Do you tweet a lot? Twitter Cards Meta helped you making your tweet look cooler? Then, why not write us a simple 1-line thank you note here? Thanks in advance! [Hide]

When I click the hide button it takes me to the plugins admin page. If I logout and login back it happens all over again. This is very annoying. It is not worth it for the functionality the plugin brings.

    Pointed noted. Few things

    1) The hide button hides notification until next update, we are on kind of 14 days release cycle, or immediate for any critical bug. So, if you clicked hide, you should not see any notification, unless you update to new version.

    2) In future we will make a way to turnoff notification forever, which will risk you missing potential important notification, but its up to your choice.

    3) And there are countless example how developer use notification more aggressively. Yoast SEO – for an example, will keep showing you notification if you have any of their competitor or known plugin to conflict with them, and that notification is not possible to turn off forever, it will always keep coming.
