• I have made the timeline express post type to be translatable in WPML. I have already translated some announcements but they are not appearing in my second language. How can I translate them with WPML?

    Hi @kopanda,

You should be able to translate each announcement using WPML without any issue, as we are fully compatible with the plugin.

You may want to attempt clearing out your site cache, as it’s possible there is some caching going on and the translations are not appearing.

We have translated every announcement but it doesn’t show. Here are the original page in Chinese and the translated page in English.

Or is there anything we have to do with the [timeline-express] shortcode?

Same for me. I translate all announcements but when I switch language I just get “No announcements found”

    Hi,

Depending on what translation software you are using, there are a few reasons this might not be working. The short answer is that we have caching mechanisms built into the plugin that help decrease overall page load times, and how much this plugin impacts site performance.

With that being said, when you view your site in one language and then use a language switcher included in a plugin to switch the timeline language, the old cached timeline content is served to your users.

You’ll find in our documentation, reference to this with the translation plugin ‘qTranslate’ – https://www.wp-timelineexpress.com/documentation/qtranslate-languages-not-loading-properly/.

We have built-in support for WPML, so no further steps should be needed if using WPML. If you are using another method of translation that is not working, feel free to let us know and we can investigate and either provide you a solution or build in support so translations work with your tool of choice.

Drop us a line or post back here and we can get the conversation going.

    Hi,

I’m having this same issue with the staging version of a client website where the translated versions of the timeline are not appearing when I click on the language dropdowns:

    https://ranir.staging.wpengine.com/history

My site uses WPML and all of the translations are finished. I am, however, using the free version of the Timeline Express plugin. Do I need to upgrade to the paid version for the translations to work?
