# Working Remotely Post Install

 * I just installed wordpress 2.8 on my home server. Everything works fine when 
   accessed using localhost, but when I try to access it from another machine on
   my home network using the internal IP address I don’t get any styles on the login
   page and it redirects me to [http://localhost/wordpress/wp-login.php](http://localhost/wordpress/wp-login.php)
   when I try to log in. Does anyone know what causes this? I’m sure it’s something
   simple I’m just overlooking. Any help is appreciated.

 * dont use localhost in **any** the settings.
 * localhost is relative to the computer you are on.
 * use a service like dyndns or something and get a fake hostname, or use the REAL
   IP.

 * only config file I changed was wp-config.php. I left the database server set 
   to localhost (I get an error when I change it), but that’s the only reference.
   Is there another file I need to change?

 * there are 2 url settings. neither of them should be using localhost if you want
   your site to be completely accessible.
 * you also should NOT use private IPs:
 * 10.10 .. or 192.168. .. etc..
