Working offline on a Mac?

  • Hi,
Is there a way to use wordpress without an internet connection? I’m going on vacation and won’t have internet access for a week and I’d like to keep working while I’m away. I’ve been building my site using MAMP.
I mostly need to work on layout and appearance issues and populating pages with content I already have, so it’s important that I be able to see what it will actually look like.
I’m not super tech savvy, so the easier it is to do this with the least transfers and programs would be fantastic.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks!

Install MAMP on your laptop – then move your local copy site to your laptop?

I have MAMP installed on my laptop, but it seems to need to connect to the internet before I can work on the site. I’m not sure what you mean by moving my local copy site to my laptop?
    Thanks!

In that case, you didn’t move the site from your remote server to your laptop correctly. Try reviewing Moving_WordPress.
