• After working for a few weeks on a site locally, MAMP’s MySQL server stopped working for me. After trying to fix that problem and failing, I reinstalled MAMP by following the directions in the codex.

Now I’m getting an “Internal Server Error” even though I’ve got green lights on my Apache and MySQL servers in MAMP.

Here’s a screenshot of what happens when I try to access the local site.

Is my problem within WordPress or MAMP?

I’m new to WordPress and would greatly appreciate any help.

  • Hello,
Personally, I found that installing WordPress on a local computer is very difficult. You are better off trying to set up the WordPress on a hosted server. These servers are configured properly and not hacked.

My local servers are not hacked and work very well. I can usually set one up in about 30 mins flat.
