• This app worked well for months–no complaints.

    And then…

I had multiple sites crash thanks to this plugin. I had to disable from the backend without access to my wordpress dashboard. No fun.

Going to reply to this to try and explain what happened.

So, in WP Email Capture 3.4 I introduced an extra file into the plugin. Everything worked fine in our tests and I was confident in it working.

Unfortunately, pushing to 3.4 missed this file being uploaded. It was discovered and patched within 2 hours (see a topic about it here – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/version-3-4-is-broken/) – and was working again fine (3.4.1 fixes this bug).

Unfortunately, the reviewer updated within the 2 hour window causing this error.

We’ve put in a protection (to be introduced in 3.4.2) to hopefully prevent this from happening again, checking if a file exists before including a require_once statement. But yes, unfortunately, you were extremely unlucky upgrading in that window. 3.4.1 should be fine (and if it isn’t, please leave a support thread and I’ll aim to fix it).
