I’m hesitating to give this even one star. Since this morning it’s been making my life a misery. I deactivate it, it comes back when I try to add or activate other plugins. Basically, it won’t let go of my site. I’ve even deleted the data in the plugin editor, and had the site rolled back by my hosting company. Awful.

    Hey there,

I’m sorry to hear that. I suspect another plugin to conflict with ours because we can’t re-enable our own plugin after you deactivate it. The plugin isn’t running when it’s not active, hence it can’t activate itself.

Also, claiming that the plugin comes back after your deleted the files and had your host rollback to before the plugin, how is that even possible? Like, our files are not on your server, how can it do that?

Again, I’m sorry for the experience you’re having but I truly think there’s more going on with your website then a fault in our plugin at the moment.

    Kind regrads,

It might be a different plugin that’s causing it, but the problem is definitely manifesting itself by Download Monitor refusing to basically leave my site! I’ve had to reinstall it for now as I don’t have the time to do anything about it, but will have to investigate it further later on. Thanks for the reply.

If a plugin is removed, there’s no way for it to come back, you are either looking at a cached page with the outdated data, in which case it’s not the plugin’s fault, but yours, or there’s an error with your site or host.

It’s seems to me the error here is between the computer screen and the user. Sorry but it’s not fair to give the plugin such a bad review when the problem is obviously not related to it.
