• I am with FatCow and set up my domain name there, educationalspeechservices.com
I used their Simple Scripts and installed WordPress.com. I then realized I wanted the .org version.
I downloaded the .org to my computer, unzipped in and put it in the root directory using FileZilla.
    When I typed in: educationalspeechservices.com/wp-admin/install.php
I got the message that it couldn’t find the database.
Also, the files from the server that were uploaded have question marks on them….
    AAARRGGGHHHH
Please help before I go back to snail-mail and handing out flyers in parking lots!

  • Have you created a database in your hosting admin panel?
Looking at the site it looks like you are up and running ?

I used their Simple Scripts and installed WordPress.com

    Um – no. You installed WordPress. wordpress.com is a site/network. You can’t “install” wordpress.com.

OK…..while I appreciate the clarification it really isn’t helpful….unless it makes you feel superior in some way! Some of us are just people who have other professions we are expert at….mine isn’t web related. But I need a website that works for me…so if you can’t be helpful, try not to be rude, e.g. “um – no”

I was speaking of the download versions available at each of those sites and I have figured out that the DOWNLOAD VERSION OF THE PROGRAM OFFERED from WordPress.org will fit my needs better than the DOWNLOAD VERSION OF THE PROGRAM OFFERED from WordPress.com

    But….thanks anyway

I was speaking of the download versions available at each of those sites

What sites? wordpress.com does not offer any downloads. And please stop posting in uppercase. It’s the electronic equivalent of shouting and is considered quite rude.

as jeffreynolte mentioned it looks like your site is up and running (via wordpress.org) http://www.educationalspeechservices.com/

now you just need to login
    http://www.educationalspeechservices.com/wp-login.php

    and start making content.
