This may help some people having a problem logging on and viewing the WordPress.com Stats from within their admin dashboard.

After installing the plugin, I get the message:

Visit your Dashboard to see your blog stats. If you are asked to log in, use your WordPress.com username and password

When logging in, nothing happens. That is the login frame just reloads with the login box.
I know the password is OK, because when I use an incorrect password, I get a message saying: wrong password.
When I try logging in at http://dashboard.wordpress.com, I have no problem.

This appears to be an issue when using Firefox. When using Internet Explorer, I did not have this problem

Finally, figured out a solution. It’s a cookie permission issue.
If you have set the options in your browser to not except third party cookies, you cannot view the stats from within your own blog.

    You can either:

    • Allow third party cookies (which you probably don’t want if you have this set to disabled)
    • Firefox -> Tools -> Options -> Privacy (leave Accept third-party cookies unticked) -> Exceptions: In the Address of website text field, add dashboard.wordpress.com, and click the Allow button.

    hope this helps
