HI, I'm trying to figure this out: I didn't realize that there are two sites for wordpress. I have a site on the .com side, and today downloaded the .org in order to use the local host (pls excuse me, I'm not technical and may be describing wrong). I've made changes and installed a theme on .org, but the website still looks likes the .com side. Can anyone help me understand why? Thanks so much

Your site on the .com side is hosted and configured on a WordPress.com server. Somewhere in the world.

When you download WordPress from the .org file, and install it on your local host, that's a separate environment that has no connection with your site on WordPress.com.

You can do anything you like with the site you installed on your local host, it will have no impact whatsoever on your .com site.

    Does that help?
