It appears it was a glitch, the numbers are usually refreshed fairly quickly after they’ve been updated. If the numbers are still not up to date a few hours after you’ve received a new follower, let me know and I’ll take another look!
I’m noticing this problem again. My wordpress.com follower count doesn’t update even weeks after new followers have been added. My email only followers though shows the correct number.

As this seems to be a recurring problem with what sounds like a relatively easy solution at your end (clearing the cache), is there any way you can make it possible for us users to perform the fix ourselves, rather than having to ask on here every time?

I’d prefer to fix the root problem instead of forcing you to go find and click a button. We’re working on making that subscriptions cache more reliable. Hopefully, you’ll never run into the issue again! 🙂
