 * I am considering starting my blog with wordpress.com in order to see if it works
   for me. I have a couple questions if anyone can help or point me in the right
   direction.
 * Can I monetize a blog with adsense or affiliate programs?
 * Can I later export my content to worpress.org?
 * Where can I find templates?
 * Is there a forum for wp.com?

 * Presently templates cannot be edited on wp.com, so adding these would be difficult.

 * There’s only an import for your blog there, although using the rss feed to export
   and import elsewhere is a potential workaround. Word is they are working on a
   solution, but…

 * However, as in the case of editing templates you cannot add themes, as well.

 * Granted, you can’t use any of those themes at wordpress.COM. You choose from 
   what they offer you there. It’s a pretty decent selection though and is growing
   over time.
