# WordPress won't update

 * I am currently using WordPress version 4.5.2 on
    [http://www.angelabchrysler.com/](http://www.angelabchrysler.com/)
 * I am unable to update to the newest version 4.5.3 because I get this message “
   Another update is currently in progress.” This message is incorrect. No other
   updates are taking place. I have tried updating now since the 4.5.3 edition came
   out. The theme I just bought must have 4.5.3 installed, but the site is not updating.
   Please advise.

 * Apparently, I need to “clear my old database tables first.” I have no idea what
   this means or where to go. Would you be able to provide a link that will clarify
   and direct me please?

 * Assuming that the lock doesn’t clear itself, what that post suggests is that 
   you use a tool like phpmyadmin to access the wp_options table and look for a 
   row with the key “core_updater.lock” and remove that row.
 * In another thread, you mentioned that you use GoDaddy, so you can access phpmyadmin
   from your GoDaddy hosting control panel.

 * You would need access to your MySQL database via your web host (GoDaddy, based
   on your other posts). For the inexperienced, this can be very dangerous and could
   possibly break your site. It would be better if you were to contact GoDaddy and
   see if they could do the steps listed in the StackExchange article above.
