 * I’m trying to find out if it’s possible to integrate a flash script with WordPress.
For a example a flash slideshow that pulls new post excerpts and images.

 * Any reason why you don’t want to use javascript for this task?

 * Virgil, integrating WordPress + Flash is perfectly possible. You might want to
check the file that generates the XML output for the NextGen Gallery slideshow.
When creating your xml you could add the desired excerpt and images.
    There are
a number of other solutions when integrating Flash and WordPress. Take a look
   at [this thread](http://graphicriver.net/forums/thread/full-flash-wordpress/4478)
   in GraphicRiver.

 * Thanks for the link ilovecolros!
 * [@royho](https://wordpress.org/support/users/royho/), are you referring to Jquery?
From what I’ve seen the effects you can do with javascript are more limited or
   more complicated than Flash.

 * Yes you can use jQuery or mooTools whichever you choose and no it would not be
more complicated than using Flash to pull posts. You would still need to code
   in action script in flash.
 * In terms of effects what are you thinking of?? Sometimes in design less is more…

 * by effects I mean everything else besides a slide or bounce effect. WIth Flash
you can achieve almost any effect and design but in Jquery you’ll have to alter
the code, it seems more like hacking to me rather than something more straight
forward like Flash. Coding wise I’m not sure if Flash is easier but applying
   effects is.

 * What other effects are there besides sliding in, fading in, bouncing in?? Do
you want the page to twist and turn and fly all over the page before it lands
for the user to read? No offense but usually new comers to web design love to
use flash because they “think” it’s cool…
 * Have a look at nike.com. At one point almost the whole site is made from flash
but look at it now. Maybe 10% of it is flash. There are definitely more cons
   of using flash than pros.
 * But hey, it’s your site, do as you will.
