wordpress with external mysql

  • hey there

    Is this possible with wordpress:
1.Let wordpress act as the front end to a mysql database, with read only access for clients
    2. Also let staff add new stuff to the mysql database through wordpress.
    3. let me administer both and create a rich looking site so both get what they want.

I am unsure if you can do this, advice anyone?? Hope this makes sense

    Andy

  • What you’re describing is exactly what WordPress already does.

However, it uses its own database schema for that. Try installing it on a test server or your own computer and see how it works.
