Am I correct that your web host is domain.com ? If so, I’m just looking at their documentation. I might have a solution(s) for you.
yes correct… do you want to email me so we can chat easier ?
Let’s keep the chat here for now. It might help others who experience a similar situation. But thank you for confirming the host provider. Before I give you some steps to take, are you on one of their basic web hosting packages or their WordPress Hosting package?
ok… basic
I’m just boarding a plane right now …
Boarding a plane. No worries. When you have time, I have a solution for you and will be happy to guide you through the steps.
Andre, thank you for helping…what did you have in mind?
The website is back on now but I still can’t get into WordPress…
I just went to your website, that is great that it’s back online–curious what changed. Anyway, the issue of not being able to log into your admin area is where I might be able to provide a possible solution to correct this. I have to go run a few errands, but once I get back in the door, I will describe what we can possibly do.
I’m back now. Let me know when you are ready and have time.
ok I’m here
I’m here now; just uploading a bunch of screenshots that I will include here in a moment.
The issue you are still experiencing of not being able to get access to your admin dashboard area can be a problem when you have just one admin login. First thing to confirm:
- Your login username: Is it a username or your email address (an address that was used when you first set up your website with this WordPress). Make sure you know what either one was (don’t post it here in public though).
- Next: Confirm what your password is/was if it was not changed yet.
- If you know the email address that is associated with your WordPress site’s user account, try that once more to change your password from the login page to your website. Make note of any error message.
- If this is unsuccessful, there is one option to gain access to your admin area. This requires getting into your database to change the login username, email, and/or password. However, this can make some people nervous, but it’s actually not as scary as some may think–as long as you have clear instructions provided. This is also a decision any website owner has to make themselves if this is the route to go.
Try the above steps 1-3 first.
yes I just was able to change my password this morning for some reason but stilll getting error
Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/upgrade.php on this server.
I put this in to be able to log in to change my password
I forgot to say, try logging in with the username and password you had for your website. If that doesn’t work, for the username, try the email address associated with the WordPress website’s admin + the password. If these still don’t work, then the database has to be edited.
Ah, OK. This is “some” progress if you were able to update your password. So, now we know the password is changed and that your email address is confirmed. Try this Link in your browser to bypass the link it mentioned about upgrade.php

That, in theory, should take you right to the main home of your dashboard.
