# WordPress very slow

 * Both the website and dashboard are very slow. My host says all is running fine
   on their end. I have Pagelines and Jigoshop installed. I deactivated both and
   it is still slow.

 * Your server is taking a looong time to respond to the initial request.
 * Look at this [Pingdom report](http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/D0XI2Jtsr/http://www.movedbybikes.com/)
   and you’ll see what I mean. That’s often caused by a less than optimal server
   configuration or the server is very busy.
 * If you have access to the server configuration then consider giving this a read.

 * It’s really dependent upon your host’s OS and you have to have root access to
   be able to make those changes.
 * Show that link to your host provider, perhaps they can lend a hand.
