 * I am aware that this is a stupid question, but how does one know which version
   of WordPress is installed on one’s server? (I feel totally silly asking this…)

 * Either:
    View Source or look inside wp-includes/version.php or `<?php bloginfo('
   version'); ?>` in your footer (1.5) `<?php echo $wp_version; ?>` in your footer(
   1.2.x)
 * I think that last one is correct, been a while since I used it.
