The problem is that if they want to actually register with my site I get an error that that user name (email address is already used. Without having a ton of detail about your site it’s hard to provide the best recommendation. When someone tries to create an account, but has previously volunteered, could you possibly show them a message that says something like, “It looks like you may already have an account or have volunteered with us, do you want to update your password?” * You could then link them to the forgot your password section of the site to reset it. Another option is to add a link to the forgot your password section in the email you send when someone signs up to volunteer. You can explain that they can update their password if they want to utilize the other features on the site. * I’m not sure what WordPress permissions someone on your site uses when they create an account, but it’s possible logging in as the “Volunteer” role might be all they need. To answer that question it would be great if you could log in as someone with the volunteer role. If they can interact with the site like any other user, then all you’ll need to do is have volunteers create a password. * There’s a lot to unpack here so let me know if I can clarify anything. My sight is a club and all users use the same account. They do not sign up for their own account. * I log in to administer the site with the same account. I was testing the plugin and was only able to sign up once. * This is a show stopper. Just to confirm, are you saying that every person logs into the website using the exact same user? If so, every person should be able to sign up to volunteer using their personal email addresses. The volunteer system utilizes someone’s email address to determine if they’ve already signed up. If they have, it doesn’t let them sign up again. If everyone signs up using their individual email addresses, the volunteer system should allow it. * Let me know if I’m misunderstanding the issue. The system actually doesn’t check if you’re logged in or not before you sign up to volunteer. It simply checks based on the email address you enter when you submit the form. Try refreshing the page and see if you’re still seeing that message. If so, then there is probably something else going on we need to look into.
