# WordPress Upgrade

 * I have been using WordPress for a long time and everything has worked great.
 * However, today I tried to use the automatic update to get to the newest version
   of WordPress and now when I try to get to the dashboard it reads:
 * > Warning: require_once() [function.require-once]: Unable to access /home/web/
   > ca/talz/blog/wp-admin/includes/admin.php in /home/web/ca/talz/blog/wp-admin/
   > admin.php on line 37
   > Warning: require_once(/home/web/ca/talz/blog/wp-admin/includes/admin.php) [
   > function.require-once]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/web/
   > ca/talz/blog/wp-admin/admin.php on line 37
 * I have no idea how to fix this, but I assume it may have to do with permissions.
   When I first attempted to update WordPress it indicated the permissions were 
   not correct.
 * Any ideas? I’ll keep trying things…but tough to figure it out as I cannot even
   get into the dashboard.

 * Any other specific instructions? I did choose to upgrade from the dashboard banner
   but then I received the above message. Just curious if anyone else has had this
   problem.

 * I changed the permissions for the referred to folder (wp-admin/includes) to 777
   and it worked!
 * Is this a security risk?
