• My wordpress is in 4.2.3, I am trying to update it to 4.2.4. but the update is not happening when I click on updates.. what to do ?
    can you any one suggest how to do the upgrade ?

  • If you site is working fine at the moment, it might be best to wait just a bit since there seems to be 4.2.4 problem at least at some sites: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/bug-in-wp-424?replies=17

    In the case of 4.2.4, I believe all the updates are in the /wp-admin/ and /wp-includes/ folders. So, you would delete those from your installation and then upload replacements from a fresh download of 4.2.4. Just always check that first unless you want to just delete-and-replace all wp-folders and wp-files other than /wp-content/ and wp-config.php. Doing the update manually can be a bit crude unless you first use something other than a plugin to put your site in “maintenance mode”, but doing all of that from cPanel > File Manager typically happens rather quickly for me.
