WordPress Updation failure

  • Hi,

I was trying to update word press to the new version available. But renamed one of the folders.

Earlier was getting this error :

Warning: require() [function.require]: Unable to access /home/creativ8/public_html/wp-includes/load.php in /home/creativ8/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 21

Warning: require(/home/creativ8/public_html/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/creativ8/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 21

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/creativ8/public_html/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php’) in /home/creativ8/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 21

Now the page is not opening after that. Pls suggest what needs to be done.

    Page address : http://www.creativestudents.org

    Thanks in advance

Why did you do that? And why haven;t you reversed this change?

I am updating the webpage only thru the wordpress control panel. Not able to login after i made the changes.

It says the page not found.

Rename wp_includes1 back to wp_includes. Then try:

    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    Hi Esmi,

Thanks for the revert. I am not able to access the page to rename.

    Hi people,

So here is the problem that i have –

my page “www.creativestudents.org” doesnt load properly since i mistakenly renamed a wordpress folder

and i am not able to access the page thru a ftp client because its not accepting the password. How can i do a password reset ?

You received the username & password from your hosting company. Search for it in your emails (inbox).

Have you simply tried renaming it back?

and i am not able to access the page thru a ftp client because its not accepting the password.

Sorry, just got to that part. We can’t help you with host specific (as in not WordPress) things like that. You need to contact your host and get your FTP password reset. That or ask them is there is another way you can access your web host files besides using FTP.
