Support » Fixing WordPress » WordPress updates don’t show up unless I preview first

  • Hi,

    Thanks in advance for any insights anyone may offer.

    The strangest thing has been going on few about a month now (maybe longer). Whenever I make an update to a post/page on my wordpress blog, the change does not show up UNLESS I do a preview first, then press update. I’ll list the trouble shooting I’ve done. Though annoying, I lived with it for a while. But then I noticed that the changes I make in widgets also don’t show up unless I go to a post, preview it, update it and then…and only then will the changes show up. Here are some of the things I’ve done to trouble shoot.

    * I’ve disabled all plugins and cleared all cache then tried to make the changes…still didn’t work.
    * I’ve checked my wp-config.sys & even added
    define(‘WP_POST_REVISIONS’, false);
    define(‘AUTOSAVE_INTERVAL’, 300);
    * I’ve checked my .htaccess and only the standard rewrite code is in there … see below:

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>
    # END WordPress

    * This is a fresh install of WordPress 2.9.2

    I’ve looked all over the internet and I can’t find anything on this topic. Am I the only one having this issue? Or anyone have any tips that may help?

    Remember to press CTRL and F5 simultaneously when viewing an updated page/site. Or try emptying your browser cache. This should ensure that your web browser fetches a fresh copy of the page rather than serving up an out-dated copy from your own cache.
