Support » Fixing WordPress » WordPress Update Lag

  • Hey all

Everytime i update something for example, putting on a a new widget or editing something in my sites html appearance, it takes about 2-10 random minutes for it to actually take affect. After an update i will hit refresh to see the updates on the homepage but the affects don’t take place straight away hence why it lags. Sometimes to get it to work i must first close and reopen my browser and or even wait a good 20minutes.

I’ve tried this on different internet connections and various computers already but the lag still occurs. I’ve used wordpress in the past already and i know updates will take affect the moment you hit update or save, so i’m lost as to why this is occuring.

Not sure if this has to do with my server host but i’ve used 2 separate servers already and it still happens.

Any helpful info would be much appreciated.

Remember to press CTRL and F5 simultaneously when viewing an updated page/site. Or try emptying your browser cache. This should ensure that your web browser fetches a fresh copy of the page rather than serving up an out-dated copy from your own cache.

    Also disable/deactivate any caching plugin(s).
