 * My site can’t update automatically to the newest version 4.7.2
    I have tried
   even uploading a plugin to update automatically but there seems to be an issue
   because it doesnt do anything. On my dashboard it shows I have 4.6 and there
   is no way to update because it says “Your themes are all up to date” and “Your
   plugins are all up to date.”
 * PLEASE HELP

 * Your site definitely needs upgrading. For the time being, I’d strongly suggest
   carrying out a [manual upgrade](http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress).
   In the meantime, try checking your site’s error logs for error messages. Your
   hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs. That might
   help to explain why your site is not updating automatically.

 * Thank you for your feedback. No errors found. Does the manual upgrade means I
   will have to replace all folders with new download 4.7.2 installation folders?

 * Everything **except** the root wp-config.php & .htaccess files and the wp-content
   folder – from a **fresh** download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the
   old copies of files & folders before uploading the new ones.
 * But do review the [Codex’s manual update page](https://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress#Manual_Update).

 * Ok I will do that. It makes sense keeping also the wp-content folder intact as
   is there where all my plugins and theme are located. Thank you.
 * Any idea why I still having problem with “automatic wordpress updates” or do
   you share the assumption it will corrected once the manual wordpress update will
   take effect?
 * Thank you very much.

 * Do you mind if I give you admin credentials to login into the backend of my wordpress
   account so you can see everything is done based on your expertise but still not
   working. Thank you in advance.

 * I am still having THE SAME ISSUE about my site not being able to UPDATE AUTOMATICALLY.
   I even loaded a plugin to help with that and it did not work so I had to reinstall
   it. I don’t like having many plugins on my site to keep it healthy, as a matter
   of fact I only have ONE (1) plugin activated which is the WPBakery Visual Composer.
 * So I had to go through the trouble of making a MANUAL UPDATE via FTP and it did
   work (4.7.2). My site was updated to the latest version just until I found out
   in a week later a new version came out (4.7.3) so I find myself now with the
   bad news I would have to do also, again, a manual update. I have also 12 more
   sites and they update wordpress automatically, with no help of no plugin, and
   I really want to get to the bottom of it: why my site can’t update wordpress
   automatically???
 * I am sending you my credentials so you can login and see what the problem is
   please.
