# wordpress update failure

 * Hello
    I am new to wordpress and I wonder if someone could help me. I am trying
   to update wordpress to the newest version but I get this message: Downloading
   update from [https://downloads.wordpress.org/release/wordpress-4.4.2-new-bundled.zip…](https://downloads.wordpress.org/release/wordpress-4.4.2-new-bundled.zip…)
 * Download failed.: Failed to write request to temporary file.
 * Installation Failed
    This also happens when I try to install a new theme or pluggins,
   Does anyone know whats wrong? thank you, John

 * I suggest to manually update your wordpress.
 * –**Download** the latest WordpPress zip file(unzip it).
    –**Deactivate** plugins.-
   Replace the old _wp-includes & wp-admin _folder to the new ones. -Do NOT delete
   your **existing wp-content **folder just Upload the individual files from the
   new wp-content folder to your existing wp-content folder, overwriting existing
   files. -Upload all new loose files from the root directory of the new version
   to your existing wordpress root directory. Don’t do any changes in wp-config.
   php file.
