WordPress trying to write to parent directory that doesn’t exist?

My top directory is public_html, but WordPress keeps trying to write to a top directory home/fame/public_html. This doesn’t exist. I’m guessing I screwed up the installation? How do I fix this?

That looks like the complete path to your public_html directory. Is WordPress giving you any error messages?

Ohhh ok… thanks about the complete path. Sorry about that. 🙁

When I try and upload, I get “Unable to create directory /home/fame/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2006/09. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

I just set the permissions to 777 (just for a moment!) and was able to upload. Thanks!!!
