Hey everyone.I had a self hosted blog acouple of months ago. I used to get followers on it, i could view which were email followers and which were wordpress.com ones.

I deleted it for various reasons, but recently made a new one. The first thing i did was install jetpack. I thought eveything was ok until somebody that followed me before said my posts wernt showing up in their feed and they didnt get the toolbar showing up on the top bit of my site.

I must have had it before for them to follow me before?

Have i missed an addon or has there been some changes recently im missing?

    my site is http://www.mintedmoose.net

That toolbar, the WordPress admin bar, only appears when you’re logged in.

If your friend is not logged in to your site, they won’t see this admin bar.

In the past, is it possible that your site was part of the WordPress.com network? In this case, all logged in users on WordPress.com saw the admin bar when accessing their site and yours. Since your site is not hosted on WordPress.com anymore, your friend would have to create an account on your site and log in to see that admin bar.

I hope this clarifies things a bit.

If you want to force the admin bar to appear on your site, even for logged out users, you can install this plugin:

no my last blog was private hosted too. I downloaded wordpress and then uploaded it to my host. Everyone seemed to be able to follow me ok. I seem to be able to get likes on my blog, just not the follow button. Ive downloaded a seperate follow button for it but it seems to only be email signup. Thanks for your help x
