  • Hello,

I think I have a unique dilemma. I have a blog which I downloaded on my host computer and am running it on a wamp server to make some changes. I am splitting my blog into three separate blogs, but my web host server only allows me access to one database, so I am installing three blogs under one database, so the table names change for each separate blog. Now I want to copy the original blog to each separate blog, so I can retain the posts and comments, then I will delete as needed. How do I do that?

  • Perhaps an rss feed to pull from one to the other two?

samboll, I’ve tried that, and it worked perfectly for my posts. For my comments, it’s a different story. My WP considered the comments RSS as posts, so I had different posts containing only comments. Is it really like that or did I just do something wrong or forgot to do something?

I tried to copy the database and rename the files, then make the change in the config file. The site works but when I try to access the admin it reroutes me to my original domain name online. Can I change that?

What if I were to start with a new database then renamed the files later and changed the config file. Would my blog still work?

Did you change the blog address and so on in the ‘Options’ table of your WP Database?

I am such an idiot. Yes, that was the problem. Now on to the next problem. Thanks,
