  • When I tried to import the contents of my previous blog to my new one, the message i got was:

The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/vhosts/mysite.orgfree.com/wp-content.

Any idea how this can be resolved?

  • Is /home/vhosts/mysite.orgfree.com/wp-content writable by your web server?

    This may be helpful: Changing_File_Permissions

We’re having the same challenges here but can’t say the Changing File Permissions information has been helpful at all. The message we’re getting is:

    Unable to create directory
/home/thomases/public_html/equus/wp-content/uploads/2007/07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

So what are we supposed to be doing?

Make sure that the /uploads/ as well as the /2007/08/ directories exist and that they are chmodded (permissions) to 777. I had a similar problem and just created the directory manually and set the permissions and the problem went away.
