    Hello,
I am trying out your plugin which seems to be very promising, however, I am not able to get it to work correctly.

I am able to send out from WordPress to MailChimp and the post gets created on the MailChimp side, but the content of the email is missing and it gets saved as a “Draft” in MailChimp and never sends out. How do I fix this?

I also noticed that you state on your plugin page that blog posts can be sent as emails. However, there is no way to send the html of our blog post (html, text and images). You only have settings for excerpts, full text and raw text. I may be misunderstanding how these work, but MailChimp can send html and inline css so why is there not an option for html and plain text in your plugin? Can there be?

An html preview would also be a very useful feature so you can see what it looks like before you send, but one thing at a time.. 🙂

I personally am looking to move quickly with this implementation for my client, so I am hoping there are some support people watching. Thank you for any assistance.

  • Oh, I also needed to mention. With my install of your plugin, when trying the “Post Now” button on the actual Post page, the popup dialog that says “…sending to mc” does not stop or go away and I have to exit out of it every time. I have also had trouble with settings saving in the filters section on both the settings page and on the post page. Always reverting to “post” being the only selection.

This is the error message I received in the log when posting to MailChimp.

    | WHERE (flt = "snap" OR (flt = "cron" AND (type = "E" OR type="W"))) |
    [2019-05-24 06:31:40] [User ID:[REMOVED ID]] -
[Error] [MailChimp - MailChimp - [REMOVED NAME]] -

[0] => cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 45000 milliseconds with 534 out of 875 bytes received ) )
    [error_data] => Array ( ) ) - ERROR [REMOVED NAME]

The [REMOVED NAME] and [REMOVED ID] were put there by me to remove client data here on this forum. Just FYI.

    TIA,

You need to check your site and your Mailchimp settings. Most probably you have something somewhere a settings that prevents autosend of your campaigns from API.

Here is how it works with 100% default settings in both WordPress and Mailchimp:

    1. Original WordPress post with title, featured image and some HTML text containing another image.

    2. SNAP message format settings (It should insert featured image before text and add backlink at the end):

    3. Result in Mailchimp Sent Campaign View (featured image before text and backlink at the end):

    4. Result in Gmail:

Oh wow that was fast! Thank you for your prompt reply!

Well.. it sure look to me that your plugin does what it says. I wonder why mine is not working. It does look like I am misusing the %IMG% as I did not know that was just the src url. Simple fix.

Now I noticed you used %FULLTEXT% for the body. This transfers the html? I tried that and still nothing in the content. I also noticed you’re using the block editor. We are using the classic editor on our site and not enabling the block editor for archive reasons. Legacy code and such. Could this be why the content is not posting? Does your plugin rely on the block editor? Yikes if it does!, but understandable as well. Maybe introducing back functionality for the classic editor plugin?? 🙂

Thanks again for quickly responding to my question.
Please share your thoughts again if you could. Cute cat.

Unfortunately, I could not get it to work the way I was wanting. Your plugin does not transfer the actual html it seems. No styling or actual html. The format of the message sent to MailChimp is determined by your dialog boxes with the %% vars. This is not ideal for me.

I did find a plugin that actually sends the html of the post to MailChimp just fine. Check it out, it is called Chimpbridge. It only sends an email to MailChimp, but looking at the code may help you in re-designing that feature in your plugin to allow the post itself to be sent to MC. That is if you have any interest in doing so. Your call on that one!

If your plugin could successfully send my post as I designed it, I would surely use it and possibly upgrade seeing how you have the other features like social posting.

look forward to a possible update.
Thank you for the quick responses!
