• Under the General Settings, the Timezone show that it is:

    UTC time is 2013-01-06 12:09:10

But right now (as of writing), UTC time is actually 2013-01-06 17:23:00

I have 2 WordPress installations (two different domains). The other one also shows the same wrong time for the UTC time.

So it’s safe to assume that the problem is not in my WordPress installation or with a plugin I have, or is it?

If it is a problem with my webhosting, what particular message should I ask their support. I’m sorry I’m not very techy at this.

    Thanks.

  • Hi fitzgerardv,

The problem is not in your WordPress installation, nor is it a problem with plugins. The source of the date/time information is the machine/server your WordPress installation is running on. Also, the server’s time may not necessarily be in synch with the database server time.

You can let your host know that the time on your WordPress timezone setting is not being reflected properly which may indicate that the setting of the server’s time may be incorrect.
