• I entered edit CSS. On top the theme recommended I installed 3 plugins for the theme performance. I marked them all and hit install. It failed to the point that wordpress now shows no plugins installed at all. 40 plugins that still exist in the plugin folder at Godaddy.

No backup available. A thousand hours tweaking. I will be in debt forever if somebody can make wordpress recognize the plugins at my webhost.

    Sincerely,

    Carl

  • Firstly make a NEW BACKUP of your database and your theme + plugins folder now.

Using either FTP or your website hosting management file access, rename the directories of the NEW PLUGINS, just adding an X on the end will do, this will disable them.
I expect that this will bring back the previously existing plugins.

If not then get back with what you have found.

I have made an update of the database and duplicated the plugin folder. I have a copy of my theme. Now I´m stuck.

I don´t know how to use FTP or where to find the directories. This is not my area of expertice.

Godaddy want $150 to reactivate my plugins. I can´t spare that right now and I need my site up and running.

Thanks for getting me this far Ross.

All help, tips and further guidance is greatly appreciated.

I don´t know how to use FTP or where to find the directories.

Godaddy have online guides and tutorials.
Can you login to your hosting management at Godaddy ?

    Yeah I can login.

Download and install yourself a copy of “filezilla”
You will be able to find your FTP settings at godaddy.
You will be able to find tutorials online in text, and also on youtube.
    You will learn a lot.
    Keep asking questions.
