 * I am looking for a new wordpress theme that will work in all browsers, I can
   customizes semi-easily magazine style, I would like the option for 3 columns
   but also have the option for 2 columns.I am willing to pay for it but when I
   search google and browse themes I don’t really get a good feel for the backend.
   if they work in all browsers etc. This is important as it is for a big print
   magazine’s new website. Any help would be great!

 * There are literally thousands to choose from. Narrow down your choices with the

 * I know I can search through the free wordpress themes but I find them temperamental
   most the time. The only theme that works well in all browsers I have found is
   the Arras them and it is easily customizable…

 * Check out Thematic [http://themeshaper.com/thematic/](http://themeshaper.com/thematic/).
   It is free and has been developed to be easily customizable. By “easy” I mean
   it is well structured and their forum provides lots of help and tutorials – it
   doesn’t have a menu that just lets you select whatever option you want, you still
   need to do the work yourself.
 * Alternatively a commercial theme like Thesis ([http://diythemes.com/](http://diythemes.com/))
   might be what you need. Not used it myself but the video makes it look like it
   is pretty customizable.

 * Wouldn’t a custom made theme suit those needs better?
