I’ve got a few WordPress websites up and running. They’ve been running for a while with no issues.

One issue has been bugging me. If and when I try to view my site from my employer (break time, lunch, ect) I notice that on almost every site, every page. 1 specific item of the theme files is blocked. The style sheet!

The proxy page categories the style sheet as “personal sites”

This is moderately annoying but even more so makes me wounder if, since a few of my sites are B2B worthy, I want businesses to be able to access my site. I’ve seen many other WordPress sites without this problem, just wondering how they do it.

    Thanks

  • Could you please share a link to your site. Also, what theme are you using?

The content-filter or firewall/proxy configuration on your employers network is blocking access based on a set of rules they define. You can either ask them to un-block it for you, or to help you identify what specifically in the file might be triggering the filter.

I did not even think of what @claytonjames suggested… he is most likely correct. It is being blocked by the content filter.

    thanks for the responses

    My sites are

    RobSlippeyPhotography.com
    visionsPhotoBooth.com

and I also have a web site I run for charity organization (but that’s been unblocked by request as it relates to my employer and it’s employees)

I should note that asking them to unblock it or for details on why is out of the question. Its a huge organization and I’m not willing to open up that can of worms, if you know what I mean.

What’s curious is it’s just the stylesheets being blocked, nothing else.

One site uses a bought theme and the other is 2016 modified by myself.

    Thanks again

Some content filters/blockers are setup to display content without the correct styles rather than completely blocking the website.

Unfortunately, it will be very hard and possibly even impossible to unblock it without having the IT Department modify the filters they have enabled.

Wish there were something more I could offer but in my experience there is very little that can be done beyond having the site(s) removed from the filter.
