 * Hi
    I am looking for a bit of advice on my website [http://www.bluesignaldesign.co.uk](http://www.bluesignaldesign.co.uk).
 * I have been experiencing slow loading pages on both the main site and admin.
   I have tried all the usual advice, like disabling plugins and using the default
   theme. I have even tried a few ideas from similar posts on this forum. I have
   spoken to the support from my webhost and they have reported no problems, so
   I am stuck for ideas on how to resolve the issues.
 * My site more often than not loads under 5 secs but every so often it can take
   between 15 and 30 seconds to load. If you view this screenshot of the net panel
   in my browser, it shows that my site often takes an age to respond from the server
   before WordPress starts to load.

 * I am beginning to think it may be server related but I wanted to make sure that
   it wasn’t WordPress before I go back to my host.
 * Any help would be appreciated?

 * do some php coding in some other folder of your hosting…
    will help you realize
   what causing this slowness…. I also believe its the sever causing the slowness…

 * Look for a caching plugin like WP super cache. It will cache copies of the pages
   to serve and speed up load times as well as reduce the load on the server.

 * Hi Thanks for the replies. The site is running w3 total cache, so that isn’t
   the problem. I installed a fresh copy of wordpress, and joomla on a different
   part of my hosting and I encountered the slowness in response time. I too think
   its a server issue but my host is adamant that it’s nothing to do with them.
   I just wanted a second opinion before I went back to them.
 * Thanks for the help.

 * Can you check the server load? Are you on a shared hosting platform?

 * I am on shared cloud hosting so no I can’t check this. When I do a reverse lookup
   it shows around 40k sites, because its a cloud host.

 * Actually, there’s a way around this. There’s plugin called the broken link checker.
   It will show you the server load in its settings. Basically, since checking links
   can drive the load up on the server, it shows you the current load in real time.
   I found it can be helpful just for that purpose.

 * I installed the plugin you described, its currently hovering around 8.5 to 9.
   It seems a bit high to me. Do you know what level it should be at?
