WordPress site stats – Visitor count much lower than it should be

Hi, I believe my website is not counting all my visitors, or even a quarter of them for that matter. For my visitor count, I use Jetpack Site Stats which I had on a different website and worked perfectly for me.

I don’t feel it’s a problem with Jetpack seeing as I viewed the stats through WordPress and it had similar results.

The stats say that I’ve had the following:

Views today:8 Best ever:30 All time:56

How do I know I’ve had more visitors?

Well, I shorten my links with bitly before sharing to social media accounts. I’ve shared 2 articles and have had about 750 clicks (482 on one and 298 on the other).

I’ve always used bitly and it’s served me well, I have no idea what the problem could be, all feedback is welcome. Thank you.
