I have a Wix website. Not much content was added or uploaded. Now I want to rebuild on WordPress. I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to use a Wix domain and hosting for my WordPress site, or if I should get a new one.

You can’ t host WordPress on WIX. You’ll need to set up WP on a host then export your content from WIX and import into WP. Yuo can use the same domain by pointing it to your new host. https://wordpress.org/hosting/

Thank you, Steven, for the heads-up. I just wanna be sure that I got it right what you said. So for the given context, my next step should be purchasing a hosting outside of Wix and then, pointing the Wix domain to the new host.

Yes. If you search on “export WIX import WordPress” you’ll probably find some tutorials.
