WordPress site in a DIV with scrollbars (5 posts)

I have a very large picture for my background which I use for the BODY tag. The background is defined as a fixed attachment. I want to place the whole wordpress site (the contents of the site between the opening and closing BODY tags) inside a div with scrollbars, so that my site would stay withing the contents of my background picture. For that, I tried to use a separate DIV tag with the style of "overflow: scroll". I placed the opening DIV tag just after the BODY tag in the header.php file and the closing DIV tag in the footer.php file just before the </BODY> tag, but for some reason this doesn't work. Could anyone help me solve this problem?

    Thank you!

I'm sorry, I can't because my site is not published yet. But here is a good example: http://playwith.wpthemes.info/index.php?wptheme=MistyLook
Imagine, that the content area of this site is included in a DIV with scrollbars. This is basically what I'm trying to do.
