WordPress Search Functions Terrible

  • What is wordpresses one HUGE Achilles heel – Search functionality, it truly is abysmal out of the box, no option to filter results, no easy way to manage your results if you use custom codes themes.

Yes there are themes out there with all this built in but why is the backend not built to allow this type of obvious search requirements.

Also when searching for plugins, i.e contact form 7, typing this in your sites search function for adding plugins gives you nothing in under 6 pages that is the exact plugin you require and typed in, how the F*** does that happen and why, i know what i want, type it in but can i find it no…..ridiculous…anyway other than that i love wordpress, but please please sort out its major Achilles heel in search….and i mean all round.

  • Do you mean the search ability on your blog when WP is installed, or do you mean the search on this site? Or the search on the plugins installer menu?

    Those are different things.

(educated guess… I would think that the 7, being ONE character, is dropped).
