• Hi all,

I’ve been learning to theme WordPress for the past two weeks or so and so far I’m loving every minute of it. It’s a rather steep learning curve, though, and I spend a lot of time on WordPress Codex looking up functions. It’s an excellent reference, but it isn’t without its flaws.

Every time I need to look up a function, I have to go through the same process every single time (Switch to Firefox… go to WordPress.org… Wait… Type function name into search bar… Wait… Click the right search result… Wait…). It’s a tad time consuming and not a lot of fun.

Just the other day I downloaded the excellent PHPfr widget; basically an offline function reference for PHP that sits on your Mac’s dashboard. In comparison, looking up PHP functions is next to painless.

Is there an offline reference available somewhere, and if there isn’t, is there some generous soul out there who might look at programming one?

    Cheers!
