• I can’t remember what version of WP I am using, but I just noticed that this page:

    http://www.exercisexequipment.com/blog/?p=149&preview=true

    was indexed by Google…

How did a preview page get indexed by Google.. this is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. How can I prevent this from happening again?

If I search for “Free Standing Pull Up Bars,” the Preview Page is on page 2 of GOogle. this is so weird.

  • Did you accidentally place the post in published status rather than draft status? The link you posted above is for the preview, but the post appears to be published. It’s the fourth post down on your front page.

    //www.dostrong.com/blog/free-standing-pull-up-bars

Umm.. wait a minute. I just noticed the difference in domain names. I didn’t bother to see what’s going on with the redirect, but you are right… the preview url is the first return in the search:

    inurl://www.exercisexequipment.com/blog/

I guess I haven’t been helpful at all. Sorry about that!

This is just a wild guess at it mind you, but see if there is anything here that might ring any bells or be of any help in sending you in the right direction.

exclude preview url from google analytics wordpress

    Hey Clayton.

The 301 redirect is in place because my old domain exercisexequipment.com isn’t that good of a name… it’s not brandable… dostrong.com on the other hand is. 🙂

I just put in the redirect yesterday, which is why the search engines haven’t updated the site yet.

anyway, i’ll give that a try. didn’t know it could cause this problem. lol

    Hi ttomp13,
which browser are you using? Did you install a PR checker plugin or something similar?

    Thank you.

    ttomp13 and fortunecat,

I am having this same problem as well. I have several wordpress preview=true pages being indexed as well. I also have some wordpress pages being indexed that can only be accessed if I am logged into my account. For example, if I click on the link in Google without being logged in, it will take me to mydomainname.com/wp-admin login page, and if I am logged in…it will take me to the post inside wordpress where I could actually edit it.

I’ve been working in Chrome and FF recently. Sometimes I will work on a post in Chrome, preview it, and then check how it looks in FF as well.

I find this disturbing, and I am not sure what to do about it.

Thanks for any insight in advance.
