WordPress post in Mastodon loses formatting

    A post published in WordPress with the ActivityPub plugin ends up stripped of formatting in Mastodon. This is not about fancy formatting like lists or typography, but something as rudimentary as new lines and paragraphs getting removed. 

    Is this a WordPress or Mastodon issue? Any ideas on how to address this?

    hey @jrozanski 👋

    this is because mastodon is using the summary instead of the full content for articles. You can use the „status“ post format in the block editor to tell mastodon to use the full content.

    You can check how a post might look like through the “Fediverse preview” (you find it in the Preview drop down in the block editor) or you can add a ?activitypub to the end of a posts URL to check the JSON that is sent to mastodon et al.
